When I catch myself feeling overwhelmed and out of control in the face of world events such as Syrian refugee crisis, Paris, Colorado Springs, Isis, Chicago and gun violence in general, I often turn to Billy Joel’s song, We Didn’t Start the Fire, as a coping strategy. I find it helps me catch my breath and regain a sense of perspective on this business of life and living.
The world’s events are so very over whelming. I also find great solace in music.

My iPod has a playlist labeled comfort food for times like this … when I need help staying centered and resourceful in the face of life’s challenges.

I love this song, and I use music for self-therapy, too. It helps so much…thank you for reminding me of this one. Love love it so much.

Thanks for the follow and stay tuned. I’ve got lots more in my arsenal. Before I had a psychiatric service dog I relied on music.
