It’s my understanding that after their breakup, Don Henley famously said that the band would play again when hell freezes over and that became the title of the album when they reunited.
I’ve always appreciated this song, Get Over It, because it speaks to the choices one has to make when you catch yourself living in the past and blaming the past.
When I catch myself hanging onto old grudges or wallowing in the past I reach for this song as the psychic kick in the butt that reminds me what I need to do in order to pick up the pieces and move forward with my life.
